So sick of this car...
So this morning I jump out of my car to run in to FedEX to grab some shipping slips and I come back to the car, and ITS LOCKED! WTF! The car was running, keys in ignition and the door is locked. I can see the latch barely closed. So somehow I got it open enough to let me out but not enough to get back in! Luckily I was close to home and my g/f brought me the spare key.
Damn car.
Damn car.

it was doing you a favor so it didnt get stolen
gotta think on the good side of things.
The newer integra locks were always weird like that. But from what i gathered it only autlocked if you tried to lock it while opening it or something. Mine used to **** mee off like that sometimes too

Just frustrating.
Honestly, if the car got stolen, probably be good. Last time I wrecked an R, the insurance company gave me MSRP for a 00 PY ITr w/ 20K on it.
I do have an alarm but it is not set to auto arm. I think I just fliped the latch open enough to get out and whne I closed the door the impact caused it to close.

exactly. i understand you're frustrated, but how can you blame the car? it's just like the tiger that bit sigmund or freud and they blamed the tiger.

Isn't it somewhat difficult locking the door from the driver's side with the door open? You have to hold the inner door handle out and then hit the lock switch while the handle was open. Made it fairly difficult to lock youself out of the car.

check your harnnes that goes into to door from the car itself, some times the connection gets loose and the locks act up. wiggle the conection until it gets tight. that used to happen to me alot until I figured it out.
I remember this happening at E-town over the summer. Someone locked his keys in his car getting ready for the autox, dude comes up, does something, door is open in about 30 seconds.
for the help, but
for how he probably learned it...

My ITR has a weird habit and i dont know if its supposed to do it or not, if i use the remote central locking/opening to open the car but dont actually open a door and instead open the trunk (using the key) the doors lock them selves 15seconds later...i jave tried it numerous times to ensure its not a fluke thing and it happens every time. My alarm is not tied into the central locking in any way. (sorry for the hi-jack but no sense in starting a new thread to cover it)

wow it bends, didn't know that
wow it bends, didn't know that
It doesnt bend, but the window does give enough flex into it so you can reach down there with any kind of long object to unlock the car. OR you could do it the way i do and always keep a spare key in your wallet.
