For those of you boosting your R's:
What do you plan to do when the boost wears out the motor? Will you take the supercharger, turbo, or nitrous off and bring the car to the dealership? Or will you just put in a new bottom end. I am assuming that when people say boost wears out the motor, they are talking about the pistons and rods.

REBUILD it.
You can take it to the dealership for a rebuild but it will cost you an arm and a leg; Plus I dont think there are many dealerships that would install non-oem parts as part of the rebuild. And if you are boosting; you would want lower compression pistons or at least forged pistons and stronger connnecting rods.

For every mod you do to your car, you risk the chance of something going wrong. You just better have the money to fix it when it breaks.
A Crower/JE rebuild usually costs about $2000+- right?
I am a bit confused about rings/bearings VS. pistons/rods. Why do people say they need a new bottom end for higher boosting, when the thing that wears out are the rings/bearings. Could someone help me understand this. Sorry, i have never learned about this.
Thanks,
Jon
