Default code 43, make it go away.

ok if i drive my car at the same rpms for an extended period of time, like just cruising, my cel pops up with a code 43. absolutely nothing is effected, no rpm limit, vtec still works and no apparent loss of power. now helms tells me that code 43 is the fuel system/o2 sensor. whats going on? has anyone had this happen?

I'm assuming you have a CRX with a B18c1?

It's not O2 sensor.
It's fuel supply.

No idea, but the helms should have a full out test procedure for you to follow.

You mean like 4 long blinks and 3 short blinks? My OBD0 LS swap with the PR4 does this sometimes. I just reset the ecu and go on. Doesn't seem to cause any problems. I would also like to know what is going on.

Did you just recently install the motor in there?

Mine did that too, but it was right when I first cranked the motor up. My fuel system wasn't primed up all the way, so it took me three attempts to start the car. ALl I had to do was disconnect the neg battery terminal to reset the ECU and I got rid of the code 43.

well this is the second time ive had this happen. the motor is a b18c1, obd1, sorry should have mentioned that. i dont have an egr valve. and the motor has been installed for over 2 years. never saw the code til i got the car back from being stolen. it didnt happen for a while and now its popped up again. ill reset the ecu and see if it happens again.

what in the fuel system can cause this? nothing is affected, and the fuel filter is brand new. and if the helms says that code 43 can be caused by the o2 heater circuit then why cant it be the 02?

welcome to the club. I get this code often aswell, mines seems to pop up when i sit at idle for a long time. But has been known to pop up when just driving rugular. And I have noticed that it affects my gas mileage when the cel is on. And The culprit in my case is my fpr. Its a b&m and when I adjust the screw almost all the way out(with the motor off) and start my car, the cel instantly comes on. so, im sure it has to do with my fpr. You might want to get a nother fpr and check to see if your cel comes on again.

long flashes = 10
short flashes = 1

if you had 4 long and then a pause and then 3 long that is something totally differnt.

EDIT*
-----------------------------------------

anyways im not sure on how to fix your problem .... hope into the manual.

good luck.

a pause denotes a break, or a new code. so if it flashed 4 long times, paused, then 3 long times, that would be code 40 and code 30.

mine flashed 4 long times then 3 short times, then paused and did it again.

4*10+3=43
