Default VTEC not hitting hard

Is it possible for a vtec solenoid spring to become worn to make vtec not hit as hard as it should? The car is a 93 acura integra with a b17 and vtec doesn't hit very hard, it hits but not like mmmmm BAH hard lol. But everything is good timing and ignition things

normally no.
Was your car not 'hitting as hard' from the very beginning or have you noticed that it's 'mmmBAH'ness' has fallen short recently?

are you getting any check engine lights? if so, what code(s) are you getting?

dont forget that vtec is throttle load sensitive, so if your light on the throttle vtec won't feel like it kicks on as hard compared to when you're heavy on the throttle from 1st to 2nd, 3rd, and onwards.

no codes and at WOT it just doesn't hit very hard anymore, the compression is fine, the oil thing I can think of is maybe the oil pump is old and not providing enough oil pressure

have you checked your oil levels recently?

have you add on any new performance parts recently?

sounds like you've worn out vtec

Vtec is a single solinoid. Either its engauged or not. It works or it doesnt. It cant be worn. Its either broken or it works.

im in the exact same boat with my h22/eg... we hooked up a light inline with the solonoid to basicly turn on when the solonoid gets 12v and opens. It comes on, but i cant actually hear vtec. Im disappointed to say the least. TPS voltage is .5 closed and 4.7 at full throttle, full oil, coolant, all wires correctly hooked up
