Default sirI vs sir II

Well i just read up on a sales page that the sirI produced 158hp@7600rpm and 112trq@7000rpm...well it sais the sirII produced 168hp@7800rpm and 116trq@5200rpm...now what im looking at is that torque range...wow what a difference, a B16 with sure a few more ft of torque but 2000 rpms less? what was the difference between the motor? better head or just because its obd1? Im building an lsvtec and wondering wow im looking for torque which i will have but what if i go ahead with obd1 and the sirII head will it be even better range of torque?
