SRP pistons Quality?
Another H-T member and I were talking about various piston/Rod packages for my b18c1 im building for boost.
The guy i was gonna buy the package from Had a Eagle rods and SRP piston package.
the member told me he has heard some issues with their quality..
Im basically trying to find out if I need to go somewhere else (because he only has the pacakage in the srp pistons) or if the srp pistons are good to go.
Whats everyones oppinion on the 9:1 piston quality?

You might want to ask/search in the forced induction forum. As many people there go the JE/SRP piston route.
That's what I used....however, I used regular JE pistons. Did you know that JE makes SRP pistons? SRP pistons have a higher silicone content which makes them expand faster than "regular" JE pistons. You might get more piston chatter during cold starts with the regular ones, and not as much (or none at all) with the SRP ones.
In my opinion, JE is very good quality. I had them on my motor and they performed excellent, even under 18psi of boost. I used JE and SRP pistons on several other builds I did and they also performed nicely.
You should be fine, but ask the guy specifically what "quality" problems he was having. Also don't forget to read/search the Forced Induction forum for info on these pistons.

I've heard they're quality, but have not had personal experience w/ them.. As said above, JE and SRP are both VERY popular w/ the h-t FI crew

JE pistons are a better quality piston than an SRP. Yes they are the same company. As blusmke is well aware trust me. But an NSX is also better than a CIVIC. They are the same company. An SRP piston is a hyperutectic piston while JE is the forged line. A hyper piston is more practical most of the time but it will not handle the same amount of abuse under race conditions.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by shamoo »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

They don't expand faster, they just expand less. Which means they are made to run closer clearences where as a forged piston needs more room to expand. Thats why a forged piston is louder esp. when its cold.
