ralphie from drt is a decent engine tuner
but its hard to get a hold of him, seems he is very busy, and doesn't have the time to dedicate to a full tune
His engine building is disgusting, last engine I tore apart an engine that was built by him, and a lot of things were very wrong, The engine would not have lasted another 1,000 miles
rpmnyc is just clueless,
first off, they don't have a dyno
second, they are a authorized hondata dealer
I called them for a part (to see if it was in stock, a customer wanted it), and they said it doesn't exist, I told them, thats strange cuz I have one on my car
their labor is grossly overpriced

I have heard good stuff about inline pro but have never dealt with them. but a buddy of mine went up there to get his boosted hatch tuned and they charged him like $600 but something was wrong and they wanted $60 to tell him what was wrong and like $45 to fix it

and if they did build your engine, cross your fingers, cuz the bitch is gonna blow up, just a matter of when

Before i start, to the original postee, go to InlinePRO, since you are in VA. They are fabulous.
oh man---
RPM and DRT have both been in this game for longer than many of us have been driving...
Calling RPM clueless, are you serious! So you talked to one person over there and he made a mistake with info re: a Hondata part...that has nothing to do with the fact that Chan is one of the most brilliant minds in the industry and can tune like none other...
You also report that they don't have their own dyno, so, what your saying is having an inhouse dyno means you can tune, and not having one means you can't>..please, have you seen their building! They can barely fit themselves, let alone the dyno, and it's a moot point anyway, having a remote dyno is just fine and has ZERO to do with tuning potential.
You don't have building and tuning an engine for Ed Bergenholtz on your resume, who is based 3000 miles away in CA, because you are inept...
DRT has built some of the most powerful race and street engines on the East Coast. That is the bottom line. As far as tuning, he has also tuned some of the most powerful cars we have ever seen in the northeast. Saying that his engines won't last due to your opinion on an isolated build, vs. what he has done for years, is incredulous.
Some of the shops that have popped up in the past few years might be just fine, however, i would but Ralphie OR Chan against any of them any day of the week.
Both of these shops were hand picked and set up by Apexi to be Apexi Power Excel shops. This was not by accident...

just voicing my opinion
your welcome to your own
Personally, I have no need for either shop, even though they are less than an hour away from me.

inline pro is close but i'm from NY, and i might be bringing my car home because i'm leaving for 6 months, so i have access to either one of these shops. thanks for the input
RPM NYC
Only people i trust with my car. Got my hondata tuned from chan and i have absolutly no complaints. I just ordered my power fc from them and chan will again be tuning my turbo setup. Dan had some pretty harsh words for both companies but if he hasnt had any buisness done with them, he shouldn'nt be knocking on em. RPM has access to a clayton dyno down the block, which is the one i used.
165whp stock b20/vtec.
