I'm looking into a Turbo for my '96 RS Integra, but one of the last things I have to look into is insurance.
Do most of the people just not worry about it, and bite the bullet if there is an accident? Or do most of you guys claim it with the car, etc...
I have a clean record, no tickets, no warnings, no accidents, nothing.

I know state farm's policy (in Florida) was that anything bolted in the car is covered. this would include turbos, but not, say a laptop sitting on the floor for tuning.
You might have to call your insurance company and ask them. I know here in new york that we have to call them and put it on the claim, to cover for it incase of anything. However the price tends to go up.
I've talked to my insurance company(AllState) about this and they said "anything that doesn't fall out of the car if you were to turn it upside down is covered". But it probably depends on your insurance company.
i dunno, with my insurance company i had to specifically add "custom parts coverage" which added about 300 bucks a year for $5,000 of coverage. that wouldn't cover anything, but it would help.
hay james,
it's aj.
I know that if my insurance company knew what I have on my car that it would go up.
What they don't know can't hurt ya (unless you get into an accident
)
btw, I got PBJ in my court case today!
2 points down, 7 to go!

Just an idea but instead of telling them your getting a turbo, make up some kind of hypothetical situation like your getting a new stereo and some speakers or getting new rims and was wondering how they would cover it if you were in a wreck or they were stolen. And make sure you take pictures of everything on the car and keep the receipts incase something does happen. Good luck
that's a really good idea b20zkid.
My friend got his rims stolen from College Park. The insurance company is going to cover it because he had reciepts and pictures of the rims. You don't want to throw away a piece of paper that could cost you a couple grand!
that's a great idea. I think that I am going to record all the stuff I have on the car with my camcorder!
