my civic is my first import and I never had to worry about my truck getting stolen. so with all the theft post I've read I decided to look into getting my mods insured. what I found out that my gmac insurance covers up to $1000 on full coverage insurance(what I have). I also found out that they will only cover to 5k with of mods and 1k for stereos with a premium. so thats 6 k total which I am half way there. Now for $2.5k worth of additional mod insurance its gonna cost $165 for 6 months and for the 5k total it would cost $270 for 6 months.

I would like to know what everybody else has if anything and what you are paying. I am getting the additional protection. I mean peace of mind not having to worry if your car gets stolen means a lot to me. Worse case senario. my **** gets stolen and I get money for a new car and new mods.

To hell with insurance companies, greedy bastards . I have my state minimum which is liability, and its still over 2k per year.

Get the extra protection. I have a rider on mine to $10,000 for the threat of theft. Yeah, it sucks getting fucked in the *** by the insurance companies but it hurts even more if your hard spent $$$ gets jacked and your are SOL. Believe me. I'ts happened to me and many people I know and its not fun at all.

I know one other guy on HT that is crazy like me.

We got an alarm, the Club, and the AutoLock.

I recommend a club and autolock (off brands ok). It only going to cost a few $$$, but add that extra peace of mind, in addition to an alarm. That extra 15 sec to do both is worth it.

If the punks can beat all of that, they should keep the car as a prize.

ill tell ya what i do to protect my car. first off u need to move to a small town where the only cars that get jacked are piles of ****. second u need to b well known, so in case anyone steals any of ur ****, u eventually find out and kick the **** outta them. third u buy an alarm, even though no one pays attention to them, the sight of a blinking LED does wonders. ive never had my **** touched because of all the above. u guys live in big cities/towns and drive a tricked out car, u basically are askin for it to get fucked with. small towns do wonders for **** like that. plus u dont have to deal with traffic.
