Default Nooobe!

Just wanted to say hey to ya'll. I am not new to the Honda scene but don't have that much experience. How much would a mini-me cost? What all do I need to do that? Also thinkin of droppin the hatch around 2-21/2 inches and doing a custom exhaust. I have a ASPEC muffler with a 21/2 inch inlet but my exhaust is stock witch i believe is only 1 1/2 inches? Is there a way to make this fit without replacing the whole exhaust? Onto the CRX, it an 85 DX that's in need of some major attention. Needs whole exhaust, battery, some misc. parts in the engine compartment, seats, tires and some body work. All this has to be done on a VERY limited budget. If anyone has a suggestions, let me know, Thanks!

Anything done on a very limited budget will have very limited results. Putting a 2.5" muffler on a 1.5" exhaust will still be a 1.5" exhaust. Take your time, spend the money to do it right the first time, and you won't regret it.

Welcome to HT, don't believe everything you read, and don't let anyone keep you from doing something you really want to do for yourself.

Your not gonna feel a difference in performance,,You'll still be slow but now you'll make alot of noise...
I see you have a STD..Do mpfi swap to notice performance
The throttle body is smaller then a golf ball and there's only 2 injectors on dx/std...
Then you should think about upgrading your tranny..88-91 si tranny will give you good aceleration...
Now that you have a better platform. you can think about the mini-me set-up..

what does the MPFI swap include, is it just replacing the throttle body or is it a complete injector swap too?

it replaces the entire intake manifold, distributer, and ecu. You also must add a resister box.

you have to run new wires to add 2 more injectors

If you look in the top of the crx/ef room theres a faq. There is plenty of links on how to do this swap

Does it work the same with an 85?

i don't think so, the 85 was carbonated right?

If so then you would have to go about wiring 4 new injectors and such.

That's what I thought so he will have to replace the whole fuel system and add a ****-load of wiring.

The Hatch, it depends on how much you can get parts for. Mine was -
$30 - Manifold, Injectors, Fuel Rail, Throttle Body
$5 - Injector Resistor Box, Harness plugs
$30 - ECU
$FREE$ - Distributor

It all depends on how nice your local salvage yards and HT members are

The CRX though is a totally different thing though...

Yes, the manifold can be sourced from a 88-91 CRX Si. Just find your friendly neighborhood salvage yard and see how much they charge you.
