first thing i would do is a compression and leak down test.

were you at idle when it just shut off, had you been racing, was the car burning any oil?

He can't do a compression test, the motor is siezed, a leakdown can't hurt, but it won't show fucked up bearings. We can see how bad the pistons ate up the cylinder walls though!

the question didnt really make sense.

He stated that the engine is seized, and then posted that he is trying to start it and had the starter and battery checked.

I was not thinking about the title of the post before i replied, but from his explaination of the problem it sounded like he believed the engine would start, but if it were seized then why even attempt to start it? I would just tear it down and go from there.

A knocking noise from the engine? Then it wouldn't turn over and idle, now it just sits there and clicks........hmmmm..

All signs point to that engine being in a world of ****. Tear it down, it wont cost you THAT much to rebuild.
