Q: Need wiring diagram for 97 Civic Radio Harness?
I just bought a Kenwood KDC-4011s, it has a cut harness that has labels on each wire:
(Example: Front L, Front R, Rear L, Etc.)
^ Blah blah just need to connect those wires to the correct wires in the 97 Civic radio harness. Where can i get a diagram? Neone have one? Help please.
Thanks for reading n helping

Ok problem is starting. After matching the wires on the above diagram, my battery is constantly dying.......
Can anyone explain this? I just color matched all the wires in the above link, and it works but it keeps draining my battery? Looking for help...

also check here --> http://www.installdr.com
About the battery dying... Any chance that the turn on lead from the head unit is getting constant 12V? That turn on wire needs to be switched (either your HU will switch it with a transistor or you will need to use a switched 12V source).
Other than that... check your wiring against the schematics on installdr... Most Honda plugs are very similar. It should be easy and my money is on a remote lead to an amp or a dead short someplace on the puck.
Good luck.

as mentioned above... you could easily have a bad head unit also... it happens. You may want to meter the neg. terminal on your battery (one lead on the post and another past the first connection) to check for parastic drain... It's been awhile but I don't think you'd want to see anything much higher than 500mV-2V (running at a max of 500mA) max. If you notice a huge drain, start either pulling fuses methodically or disconnecting power wires from the puck. When you hit the right wire that's been installed improperly, you will see the voltage drop on the meter. If you have checked all power wires for the head unit and still can't get the voltage to drop, pull the fuse out of the kickpanel for the RADIO.... still see a problem?? Pull the fuse on your amp.... Do you see where I'm going with this? If you need help, email me.
Take care,
Andrew.

just a quick addition to my previous post...
AFAIK... I had an older digital parametric eq made by Kenwood (KDS-P110) and as I recall, there was something whacky about needing to ground the illumination wire rather than power it. I think it may be worth looking into. If I can dig out my old manual, maybe I can be of more help... Kenwood plugs are pretty simple as I recall though.... 4 wire??
