NSX brake calipers upgrade problems
Sorry if this is in thw wrong forum. I tried the EG/EG but they suggested I tried here since many of you have done it on the ITR.
I'm trying to put NSX brake calipers on my EK hatch. I know many people on this forum had done it on their EG/EK and Integras.
This is my problem...
The caliper will bolt up to the knuckle, no problem here.
And the rotors (I'm using the 11.1" inch NSX rotors, redrilled for 4x100) will fit on the hub, no problem here.
But When I try to install the caliper on to the knuckle with the rotors on the hub it does not fit
It semms that the rotor is too big?? Any ideas? I took some pic to illustrate the problem.
I don't see why it wont't fit?
calipers will fit with out the rotors.
the rotor is 11.1" which is what everyone is using.

WOW! Are you usin early calipers w/later rotors? Later NSX has larger ones. Maybe the reach on the EG knuckle is shorter then SI, GSR, Type R etc...
I just measured my rotors and they are also the 11". You may need to change out the knuckle. I've never swaped NSX to EG before but, I do know that the certain high fuel economy EG, EKs use very small front brakes. These knuckles do have a diffrent part #, maybe this is why. Just an idea...good luck

actually, the nsx cailper is a direct bolt on to the itr knuckle setup case closed. no need for anything else.

I think the problem is with the rotors, not the calipers. I gave Willard a set of NA1 (NSX) rotors to play with and he said the offset was really weird.
To my knowledge, the only person who got NSX rotors to work is Bruno (Darkteg); here is his thread (maybe it might help):
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=874351&page=2
now the first thing that pops out is the 14mm difference between the NSX bracket and the hub bracket. i need to fabricate a stainless steel 14mm washer for each bolt.
second, each of the bracket bolts need to be longer (at least 38mm)

You guys should look in this thread Marcus (MrHeelToe) got one of his suppliers
to have Legend rotor's drilled to 4x100 not redrilled.

I know this doesn't directly correlate to you R owners but I figure it may help
someone.

my head a splode....
yes. you can use the ITR caliper carriers too, I think you have to with the later NSX calipers.

Your pretty sure for someone that is incorrect. Yes the NSX caliper will bolt to the ITR knuckle and will work that way.................but its not correct. The rotor is not centered in the caliper. To properly install them on a ITR knuckle you will need a 2 mm thick washer between the caliper and the knuckle. This will ceter the caliper over the Legend rotor and help prevent uneven pad wear.

You are using stock ITR rotors (23mm thick?) vs my old set-up with Legend GS rotors (25mm thick?)
Ok so with ITR rotors it is a direct bolt on, With Legend GS rotors it requires a 2mm washer.

Thanks for everyones help. Dropspeed you are correct I have a DX so my stock rotor is 9.1" I forgot that the EX are 10.1" stock which mean their mounting tabs on the knckle will be slightly longer than the DX ones whicj will clear the 11.1" Prelude/NSX rotors.
To confirm I tried the NSX caliper on my friend's 99 EX and yup the tabs are slightly longer on the EX.
Here is a pic
