Default Need help with 4" speaker enclosure volume.

Hey I know this is not a real popular thing to do with a 4" speaker but any one who has experience with enclosure volume. I just recieved my q-form kickpanels and am putting in 4" components. I have a foam baffle that I have sound dampened significantly and wondering if the volume (approx. .15 cubic feet) is going to be enough...I will be running close to 100watts to the driver which is its optimal rating. Should I add the poly fill pads to trick the box into being bigger?

To all those going WTF??? An properly sized elcosure will ALWAYS make a speaker perform better.

You'd need to take a look at the T/S parameters and then possibly model them in a program or do some manual calculations.

Polyfill can be used, but Dampening the enclosure will be important. Some people use non-hardening clay, mass-loading urethane sprays, blah! You get the idea.

This is the reason home audio speakers sound so well. Sometimes a 4" midrange will be in an enclosure built with 3" think wood.
