Default Driver side door electrics not working (interior light, lights on alarm)

I've got an ED which means I've got power windows and central locking etc, when I open my driver side door the interior light doesn't come on and if I've left my lights on the beeper doesn't activate. My power window and central locking still work fine, it just seems that the car doesn't recognise that the door is open. I'm thinking I may have blown a fuse? it's also possible that some wires may have been cut at some point by the last owner. I just need help locating the bits associated with what I'm guessing plugs into the little button on the door that pops up when it's open. Thanks.

youve got a bad door trigger. when the doors open look in the door jam, try to wiggle the switch and see if the dome light comes on.

its also common for the switch to rust out, and no longer send the ground signal, which tells the car the door is open.

you can try to sand away the rust and fix the switch you have, or replace it. also, its possible the wire is cut too, but id pysically check the switch first, before you go looking for cut wires which is a much larger job.

good luck.
