Default Brand new clutch and it started squeaking....

Got my clutch put in last week and after about 4 days I noticed a squeaking sound under the hood. When the car is at idle, the squeaking continues. If I hold the clutch even about 2 inches down the squeaking stops. I already put about 350miles on clutch and have not been driving hard and don't plan to till 700miles. What could be the problem? Was it installed bad? Is it just breaking in? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The same thing is happening with my friends car, i believe its breaking in. Its not a squeaking noise its more of a something is moving noise.

Did you put a new Throw out Bearing in there and did you lube it up good?

the throwout bearing was most likely put in there dry. youre supposed to put grease on it, and the shaft when installing it

Yea I got a complete clutch kit (clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing + lightened flywheel). My friend installed the clutch for me and I'm pretty sure he did grease it. If he didn't grease it enough or not at all, is it bad to drive on or will it just keep squeaking but nothing else?

its not bad, youll just hear weird noises for a bit until the shaft and TOB agree with each other

i'v got the same prob and i'm pretty sure its the input bearing in the trans because once u press the clutch in the input shaft should stop turning plus when i put my clutch in i put a new throw out and pilot bearing in

dang, mine does this too! i replaced everything, but never lubed the t/o bearing. i just assumed the bearing's insides were lubed enough, so it was all good.

so has anyone actually gone through this process and saw it to be okay after a month or two? i sure as hell dont wanna be pulling my tranny in mid january in wisconsin to fix it..

Before you grease the clutch fork you must clean the housing and the fork... if not the whole thing, just the area around the fork bolt and the fork itself...

I had this problem, and then I bought Valvoline silicone spray... I think any silicone spray would work

I removed the boot and sprayed the good amount over the fork bolt while my friend was pushing the clutch in-out...

The squeeling went away for 2 years... then I changed the tranny (EX) and cleaned that area, greased it up properly and I have no squeeling problems...
