auto to manual swap
what year accord?
5th gen. theres basically no wiring. you just move the shift indicator switch under the automatic shifter to park and leave all the wiring alone, unplug and remove the TCU. I used the auto ECU w/o any CELs for a while, but I got a 5spd ECU anyways. As long as the ECU thinks the car is in park you will be able to get the key out of the ignition cuz if you dont the interlock switch will keep the key in.

I have a 1994 ex auto and was planning on swapping over perhaps as early as x-mas break, but I saw the auto to manual swap guide in the stickies, and noticed that said 5 speed ecu??? Now Im a bit confused do you need this or not? I know single cam in civics you can reprogram an auto ecu to become manual is that the same for accords? Which axle and intermediate shaft do you use? Both from 5 spd accord? or can I use my stock axle?
Thanks,
Dax

Also regarding the swap, do I need a new 5 speed ecu or can I reprogram my auto ecu and/or trick my current auto ecu by continually engaging the car? I think I remember reading that somewhere, I really dont want this to be a rig job so whats best?
the accord uses a seperate transmission ecu, so you can probably use the stock accord engine ecu as long as you jump the connector for the AT gear indicator to Park.
you can use the stock auto ecu. just remove the tcu. i was using the auto ecu for a few months with no problems but came across a 5spd ecu on ebay for $10 so i got it and sold the auto ecu for $20
like is said before as long as the shift selector switch is in the park position

Not to be a newbie, but how exactly do you do so?
