Default how good are stock b16 rods?

if someone were to turbo their car and get low comp. pistons has anyone used their stock rods? if so what kind of boost can they hold? 250-300 hp....would that be safe?

That is a stock bottom end B18C5 on 93 octane. Though I wouldn't recommend trying this, it's about elaborate tuning. I'd say get all least some Crower Econo rods as long as you are going to have everything apart. Almost anything is safe if it's tuned properly. But for realistic purposes I'd just go ahead and do it now rather than to wait and see.

I would say the stock b16 rods are good for 250-300hp, but at the very least should have some ARP rod bolts. Also, a good shotpeen and polish is known to increase strenght by 100%.

Yeah I know..The rods are like paper thin. And I think the zc's are the weakest....Correct me if I'm wrong..

My friend has a z6 with ls(b18a) rods and susuki vitara pistons and the motor feels real strong...

Now THATS a hybrid!

And as far as turning up the boost for faster cars, remember that there will always be someone faster. Find a maximum limit for the engine and obey it, and accept the fact that you have a fast car with stock rods. If you try to push it to something it can't do, it will go from fast to nothing very quickly. As they say, to finish first, first you must finish.

Depends what turbo you use and who tunes the car..
10psi with a t25 isnt the same as 10psi with a 60-1..
