Default Slippy shift linfage

I just swaped a GSR engine into my 93 civic Si. The linkage is very sloppy (like a dick in a shirt sleeve). When the shifter is in a gate the **** can move around an inch or more left and right. The problem seems to be in the lower rod at the front where the universals are. Does anyone know of a rebuild kit or a way to fix this other than replacing it.

sounds like your tension rod on the shift linkage isnt connected, check its there with bushings in tact.

ya thats all there. I was just under the car looking at the linkage and the problem is the universal section. The tension rod is attatched and the bushing it there. Both the horizontal and the vertical swivel joint are really sloppy. Its to the point that I wont be able to drive hard.

Energy Suspension and Prothane both make shifter bushing kits for your linkage. These make your shifts feel firmer. Meanwhile, I would try tightening the nut/bolt on the bottom of your shifter, as well as tightening the small nuts on the bottom of the plate that surrounds the swivel point of the shifter.

I already have that bushing and its in good shape the problem is in the universal section of the shift linkage.
