if i drive a car with a bad water pump, fill it up with coolant before i go... how long will it take for it to overheat with a ambient temprature of about 40.

i need to go 3 miles about 6 minutes.

just looking for info from someone who knows how long it took for they're car to heat up signifigantly with a bad water pump.

this shop i towed my car to is trying to dick me around so i am going to another shop.

get a gallon of water to take with you to pour over the motor if you overheat enough to have to stop, crank the heat up and coast when you can. give it a shot, you can probably make it.

im going to try to see how far i can get before the needle goes too high.

im just going to put water in the radiator since its all going to get dumped out anyways.

also try to drive on highway, instead of stop and go

stop and go is what heats up the engine a lot

 

If you see it shoot up, then pull over and turn it off, you don't want warp the head or block . .
