what spring rates to order for my GC's, and where to order GC's
i saw this post b4, but couldnt find it
what's a good setup...for track/dd
the realtime R's do like 800/1200 for f/r....
is half that good, 400/600?
i want it to be as neutral as possible....if anything, more oversteer than understeer

I am actualluy using a custom set-up GC kit 1200 front and 850 rear for street. I love it but everyone knows that I am nuts. I say go with 700f and 550 rear
halo, doesn that stiff front encourage understeer a lot??
how is it balance-wise and where did u get ur gc'z?
thankz man

higher spring rates in the front dows increase more undesteer, But i think is just how u want u car to handle and how u like it to handle.
My firend has JIC coilover, with 12K front and 6k rear. He likes it, and when auto cross, he do it pretty fast. So i really think thats just personal taste on how they like to handle.

Halo's rates seemed pretty extreme for a daily driver/weekend racer, if that's what his car is? I just bought my Ground Controls before Christmas, and got them direct from Ground Control and the service was quick and easy. I got custom rates with ERS springs on there, and for an entry setup for a daily driver/autocrosser on the weekend they reccomended 400f/300r, and paired with an ITR rear sway, that would provide very NEUTRAL handling, but still be a very streetable setup. If I were you, I would order direct from GC, and they can give you advice on what rates to get for your certain application. I would tell you how I like mine, but I am waiting until march for the winter could not be good on a new suspension setup.
Good Luck,

I have a 97 hatch w/ B18B swap. I ordered mine direct from GC and had to lie to the guy and say I would be using these for "racing only", they won't sell you that rate if you use it for a daily driver. Before this I was really into VR6 Corrados had 2, and both were also really stiff. I have no idea what it feels like to be in a normal car.....lol

Comptech: I'm running 450/600 on my car, it's pretty neutral (with a 22mm rear sway bar) but does favor oversteer at the limits (even if you are on the throttle). It is a daily driver/weekend track car.
You might wanna do 450/400 street then just get a spare set of 600-700lb springs for the rear and change to that if you do track events.. too much oversteer isn't that good on the street, for example, if my car hits a bump going around a corner and it's raining, it flys out in the back.. gotta be careful driving it on the street.

I just can't stress enough that it all depends on what you've done to the rest of your suspension!
For instance, I've got strut bars front an rear, 22mm rear sway bar, Comptech tie bar, and complete ES bushing replacemants and I can still get oversteer on 300/250 GC springs. Without the ES bushings, I would go with 400/300 for completely neutral setup. 400/350 starts to favor oversteer under certain conditions, and 400/400 is quite definitely oversteer. I've run them all and assuming you haven't done the ES bushings swap, I'd recommend 400/350 to start. You can always increase rates later on once you've got the hang on how YOUR CAR will handle with YOUR suspension mods. Remember, any change to ANY part of your suspension will affect how everything works together!
