Default tail lights missing gloss!

I have a set of 95 lights..and I sprayed the tail lights candy red. It came out pretty good, It's all red now BUT it doesn't gloss. I sprayed a top layer (3 layers total) of "KRYLON" crystal clear High GLOSS on them. They kinda shine now with a gloss but they don't shine as much and as clean as before and the reflection isn't clear, the reflection is kinda blurry. It's glossy but dull glossy.

what should I do to correct this error?

What brand/type of red paint did you use? Testors make a transparent candy apple red that works real nice.

the best paint to use is that Testors model paint...it works really well...that downside to painting your taillights is that if it is in the sun too much...you'll notice it start to crack off...or see crack marks all over...just get some TypeR tails...if you got the funds...good luck!

ok, does it matter which clear coat I use? Cause TESTORS have 3 different kind, CLEAR ACRYLIC GLOSS, CLEAR ENAMEL GLOSS, and CLEAR LACQUER GLOSS?
which one of these is Best to bring the STOCKtaillight gloss back?

I got my Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red (#1605) at Meijers Department store here in Columbus, Ohio for $2.59 for 3oz. I tried Dupli-color clear coat and it wrinkled up the paint......so I cleaned it up and re-painted it, then went to the local hobby store where the owner told me Dupli-color would not work with Testors. He then pointed me to the Testors #1261 Clear Gloss Lacquer Overcoat.........I have not tried this yet since it's freakin 20 degrees outside now, but he said it would work just fine.
