axle clicking when moving stright?
Well i just noticed when would climb rpms(not hot rodding) my axle sounds like its clicking...i just put the new ones in..but i thought it might be my tie rod ends because they arent to great right now either...i noticed kinda a soft grind latly when turning left..i think its the axle..if so could it be my mounts for my swap? I just got some from japan they arent hasport or hcp. or could my tie rod ends be causing pre mature wear because u can grab the wheel and wiggle it back and forth because they are bad...should i get new mounts too? i head the hcp and hasport put the motor in a nice position and axle wear isnt an issue.. anyone have any other ideas?
If the axles click when going straight, there is a good chance the INNER cv joints are bad. especially if you got them from Kragen!(I used to work there
) If the inner cv joints are bad you will hear the chatter when accelerating because thats when they are under load.
Inspect the inner boots. if they are ok, the joints may be "noisy" from being rebuilt poorly and are not necessarily close to breaking. If the boot is torn, replace the axle as soon as your wallet allows.
