Default I need help with left side axle (drive shaft)?

My friend has 96 honda dx with a b16a. replaced his axle about a year ago at a local shop and now its cluncking when turning right. What about the motor mounts? You think he should get new ones?

inspect the motor mounts to see if they're bad before replacing. and to get the clicking to go away he'll need a new axle...

The axle clicking means the cv joint has gone bad. Putting in new motor mounts won't fix a bad axle, a new axle is needed to fix a bad axle. If he doesn't fix it he'll notice that the noise is getting worse, right before an audible crunch/klank/thunk-thunk-thunk/wirrr... after that he'll notice he's not going anywhere.

while new motor mounts won't fix a bad axle, new motor mounts will prevent a new axle from goin bad again.

so definately change out the axle, and check the motor mounts to see if they need to be replaced.

I agree with the diagnosis. I had the same thing happen to my car and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole axle again unless you want more problems in the future. I dont know why the cv joint would have gone bad so fast unless the one you had put in last year was defected or already heavily used.

Jack up the car and look under it. most of the time when a cv boot goes bad you can see a rip in it

94-01 teg, 99-00 si, del-sol vtec. Changing axles is the same process for either side.
Changing the mounts... just support the car from underneath w/whatever... jack w/block of wood works best...
