Default Cleaning Vacuum Lines

I read somewhere about taking off one of the vacuum hoses and placing it some simple green, and allowing it to be sucked up.

What does this acheive? Is this adviseable?

I want your expert advise before attemping such a feight.

simple green? not adviseable unless u ment seafoam <hmm are u trying to decarbonizing your engine?>

plus if u let the engine "suck" in too much of that stuff too fast, u can "hydrolock" your engine, bending a valve/ pushing a piston out the side of the engine block
