Default Tranny swap

Right now I have a stock 4-speed automatic transmission but I really want a 5-speed instead how bad is the conversion and about how much will it cost, if I do it myself or if I take it somewhere and have it done?

what i would advise to do also is take it to the shop to have done. if you dont know what your doing this is something you dont want to play around with. if i were you i would try to sell the car and find a 5 speed but thats just me

The problem with selling it and trying to find another is that my car has super low miles, what can I expect to pay for the whole conversion though? Also someone was telling me that it is a weird conversion because of the automatic transmission sensors and stuff like that.

super easy swap, especially in your 5th gen Civic. First one me and a friend did (in his race car), took about 4 hours total.

Here's what the deal is- the auto passenger upper "pig ears" are further back than the manual one...so you either need to buy the HAsport mount to use the stock auto setup, or, you can weld a manual one in there- thats what I did.

Other than that, you will need a flywheel, clutch, tranny, shift linkage, pedal assembly, master/slave cylinder, clutch lines, and shifter. Auto axles will work.

There's not a lot to it, just a matter of gathering parts. I would suggest finding a junk 5 sp for parts, otherwise routing the lines to the slave will be a pain
