My 97 GSR has a problem... the gas gauge will not work. It at quater tank of gas and when i put around 5 more gallons of gas in it.. it did not move.

How could i test to cluster or sender to see if its in working condition.

If it matters: I bought the car with indiglo gauges already

 

I think they have resistor most of them fail.

I think the helms book has a way to test it with a Voltage meter.

you might wanna look into that.
