so i was under the impression that the z10 cross member that has the mounting holes for the 92-95 civic radiator, would make it so you can just mount that radiator right in... well guess i was wrong.

i was going to just fab up a new radiator support but then the cross member gets in my way for the lower hose.

is my only option is to lean the radiator back enough for the hood to close?

so pissed i just spent all this money and they falsely market their product....

wow i was under the same impression. i was thinking of getting one because of that feature. So what X-members have the mounting brackets (i guess u'd call them) for the eg rad.? i'd say contact z10 if u didn't already, they got people on this site too, forget their names though.

 

oh it has the lil spots for the rad to mount on... its just too damn tall still. ill probably call them tomorrow if i get out of work on time (damn holidays)

id say go with a jim fab and then make a custum radiator mount out of som flat stock.

Full race.. Im not sure if they have mounts for a rad. But it sits low so im sure it would clear youd just have to make some up.

 

the point of buying an expensive piece is so u don't have to modify it.....

 

How is the Z10 bar besides the radiator mount problem?

Also, (newbie question) why swap in a smaller radiator?

 

i am still runnin a stock x-member but i switched to a half size cause i needed the space for my turbo to fit. Its still a lil cramped even w/ the half size

 

i have a full race bar and its the same way, there are mounting holes for it but the rad is too tall, you can lean it back, or you can not use the mounting holes and just zip tie it on, eg radiators weigh about 3 lbs when full, nothing 4 zip ties cant handle, i know it sounds ghetto but it works,

i had to tilt mine a tad bit,

 

So does anyone have a X-member thats able to fit an EG radiator???

 

i have a Place Racing crossmember that supports the eg radiators. im not sure how high the radiator sits because i havent had a chance to put it on since i broke my leg. will do them once i get outta this big *** cast.

cause using a jim fab like this guy is he doesnt have the 2 bars on the crossmember and has room for the neck of the lower rad hose....

i shouldnt **** on z10 sooo much. cause i would say hands down it will be alot more stable then the other ones since it uses the 2 bars and bolts where the toe hooks go too.

really im just pissed about the rad mounts... but ill deal

 

how much did you spend on the z10 setup, because the full race is 100 times better.
c&r makes a short radiator that is half style for crx's

 

did you get the z10 for the half size radiators or the full size??
cuz the ones made for the full size won't work with the half sizes.
i ran into the same problem as you with my set up. with a little bit of research, alot hassle /headache could have been avoided.

It depends on the hood you are using. Alot of times the bottom of the hood
support is modified or the radiator is laid back at a slight angle.

Civic and aftermarket 1/2 sized rads are NOT the right height...they are taller. If the crossmember is built to stock spec then it would be made to fit the shorter OEM rad.

The crossmember is NOT the problem here. If Z10 made it to fit a 92+ Civic 1/2 rad (and all the aftermarket versions) then it would be too low for a stock radiator. The problem is the radiators you are trying to use. They need to be SHORTER. Untill someone else makes them you will need a C&R Shorty, or whatever they are calling them. Make sure you tell them what it is for as the ORIGINAL shorty was of absolutely not ******* use whatsoever. Better to get it thru Will at Exospeed.

Nothing on a custom car is "drop-in" either. Even if it's supposed to be.

As far as which crossmember Z10 hands down. Having the adj. radius arms when doing the alignment is priceless. Having to take them off to adjust like on others...worthless.
