You will need to add wire because it was cut off of another car. The "paper Clips" hold the connectors onto the injector. You will need to have all of these clips for safety reasons. Just imagine making a pass in 3rd gear and have one of the clips fall off at 7000RPM.

that really wouldnt do anything, just make it run on 3 cyls. And before you say it will make it run lean, it cant run lean on that cyl, theres no fuel but anyway you do need to get another one of those little metal clips

i have a similar question...i have been getting weird detonation problems ever since it got cold outside. My car runs smooth and my afr's are in the high 11's to high 10's and i'm still detonating. This is also with fairly conservative timing maps. I've asked a lot of people and nobody can tell me what is wrong. One of my injector clips has a part of the plastic piece broken off and no paper clip thing. I just have it held on with a ziptie. Is it possible that it could be making a connection, but not well enough for the injector to work properly? Could I be leaning out on just that one cylinder and still getting rich overall afr's?? I got a new clip i'm gonna solder on when i get the chance so hopefully that was my problem. I can't really test it out right now though because i just blew my hg.

sure you are detonating and not misfiring?

check your plugs with a magnifying glass...

zip ties work fine if used properly.
