Well the box is going to be the size of the tire well cover. I really wouldn't need to remeve the box, but in case of emergency, if I needed to I could.

Any other ideas, I was going to fiberglass, but I heard it was expensive, and I can get MDF for next to nothing.

Oh and the part that sticks up out of the base, will only be 14" across, I only want enought to support the speakers and a little more to give me some cubes inside.

Since it was a quick paint job, i'll try to throw up a front view later.

I built a 10" sub box into my brother's spare. I took out the spare, garbage bagged it and fiberglassed into the spare. Then fiberglassed that onto a piece of MDF cut using the spare cover as a template. Then built a false floor to cover it. You just need to find a sub that needs small airspace. I used a Boston Pro 10".

if you pay to have the fiberglass done its expensive, do it yourself and its barely more than MDF. with glass you have a lot more design freedom

How much would it approx. cost to do the same thing, but only the base out of MDF and the top Fiberglass?

You have too many flat surfaces to use fiberglass. Stick with mdf.

After further research, and drawing the idea out on graph paper with the dimensions of my sub. The magnet of the front sub's magnet will be really close to the side of the box, but I am not totally sure. If this was so, how would I invert the sub (upside down) if it doesn't fit. If it possible just to do that for a solution. I have seen it done, but I have never tried it.

Just flip the sub over and mount it. Might want to come up with a gasket though.

Also don't know if it has been brought up, but you need to either match the airspace of both boxes or vent them into each other.

So should I just build it w/o the middle divider. As for the inverting, do you wire it like normally, I have heard you had to do it different.

You only need to worry about wiring if one is mounted normal and one is mounted inverted. As far as the divider, you should use a brace but if you can't match the airspace in both enclosures then don't do the entire divider.

why not jsut put both subs in a box that mounts flush with the back of the seats? it would be a lot easier to make and a lot easier to get to your spare tire. would save a lot more of the trunk space too.

Well my current box is against the back of the seat, I just wanted something different. And it isn't like I am planning on needing my spare tire. I just want it there in case something does happen.

How would you wire it with the front sub inverted and the back one normal?

dude, that is gonna kill your trunk space... i would personally do something with 1 12" sub, i made a fiber glass box that is perfect and i still have my spare tire in my wheels well...

i made it myself... costed about $100 in materials....
fiberglass and sandpaper gets expensive
