Project LS-turbo Engine Build (photos inside)
My 96 Integra, for $750 needing a head gasket and timing belt:

I did all the work my self:
- I got a block brace for the top.
- I have a technique for cleaning cylinders that works well. I use oven cleaner to strip the head of oil, carbon, gasket material and what not. Do not hit the value guides or any area around the value assembly as you do not want to oxidize the machine surfaces of the cams, etc:

- I removed all the values (that was fun)
- I ported and polished the exhaust side. Nothing heavy, just de-burring the casting seams on the runners. You can see the port seams here:

- Then I used the new gaskets to match the ports and manifolds:

- I lapped the values.
- While all the parts were off I cleaned them up the shot some paint:

I only have about $225 into the project thus far.
After winter will come the 225hp turbo set-up... and much much more.

Wow Man sounds like a great deal. If I were you while you have the engine out you might as well put new Berings, maybe piston rings and other easy to do while engine is out things. especially on a turbo engine.
All in all, nice work.
