I just bought an 01 ex in Florida and I am moving back to NJ next week. I changed all the fluids for the trip but one thing I was concerned about was winterizing the car.

It's 80 degrees here but 30-40 in NJ. Should I winterize the car before I leave? Or is it ok to do it the day after I get up there? I just didn't want to mess the car up either way.

is there a real procedure to "winterizing" a car? besides checking fluids/filters, wipers, brakes, tire rotation, battery/charging system test, etc...

basically preventative maintenance checks, tire tread depth (ie I put the tires w/ the better tread up front) , lubricated brake caliper pins, check antifreeze %, check belts & hoses... etc.

since u already had all fluids changed out, just another oil change when u arrive in NJ & quick inspection of the vehicle is needed. <oil change might be overkill @ that time too; unless it is to change to a 5W30 oil to allow better flowing under colder conditions)

<shrugs> just keep to the maintenance schedule of your vehicle is what i've done to see my vehicles stay on the road. Common cents
