Starter/Solenoid doesn't work?

Starter/Solenoid doesn't work?
1992 Accord EX Manual
When I turn the key in the ignition the only thing that happens is that I hear a clicking sound from under my hood. The engine does not turn over.
I have had the same symptoms before and I replaced the negative battery cable and that fixed it. So, I am going to try a new negative battery cable tonight.
I am assuming that the problem will be the Starter/Solenoid if at some later point, say when I am at work 55 miles from home, the symptoms resurface. If this is the case will I be able to push start my car to get home?
