h23 to h23VTEC?? questions
My friend and I are very interested in building his non-vtec h23 into a h23VTEC. I've read a lot and I get the procedure and what has to be done....well for the most part. This is why I created this thread. I am not very very familiar with Hondas as I own a DSM but I want to give this a shot...I have these questions...
What can I use from the h23?
block? - Should it be bored?
pistons?- should I go forged?
rods?- should I go stronger?
crank? - can this just be cut due to high RPM's that are reachable.
Do I just have to install the h22 head on the h23 block? If so, does that bolt up right and am I going to have head to block issues or do they mount up perfect?
For the V-tec, do I now need to get a hold of the h22 computer? Can I just use the vtec controller (probably not cause all that does is controller it through the computer) So I am going to need the computer right?
Also, what miscellaneous things will I need to be obtaining for the project?
Oil Lines?
Coolant Lines?
Is any of this dramatically different?
I read one thread where a guy changed his h23 to a vtec'd h23, but he used the h22 block? Does that make sense wouldn't he still be displacing 2.2 liters and not 2.3?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

H22 and H23 blocks are EXACTLY the same....even have the same part number. The ONLY difference is one reads H22 on it and the other H23.
