For those of you with Mugen pedals (or something similar).
I got a set for Christmas, and I love them. But when I'm wearing my black soled boots, the sole rubs off on the grippy pedal and they turn pretty black. I used a toothbrush and some soapy water to clean them, but they are still a little black. Has anyone used a little bleach mixture on them? Also, do you guys have any ideas to keep them from getting black when I wear my boots or nice shoes. I was thinking maybe like a plastic cover I could slip on and off...at least on just the clutch pedal. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Take your boots off when you get into the car maybe? I dont really like driving with boots, way too big and clunky.

My clutch pedal is real dirty and the brake pedal is sort of dirty. I don't think it's worth the time or effort to clean them.
I've had my mugen pedals for a year now and I've never had that problem with any kind of shoe I've worn. Just stop driving with those boots on. I think it's a little rediculous to put a cover on pedals...I mean they're going to get dirty, they're made to be stepped on.

Anyone know where I can get floormats to keep my ITR floor mats clean?
I think you all misunderstood when I said I wanted a plastic cover. I didn't mean permanantly. I wanted something quick and easy that I could slip on when I was wearing boots. As far as not wearing boots while driving...I wish I could never wear them but sometimes when I go out to a nice dinner or something boots are neccessary. I understand I wanted them becase they are grippy, and I love the way they feel. I was just curious if I could prevent them from being permantly black. Anyway, thanks for the input...I guess I'll just deal with it. They're just pedals.
first of all guys i know this is a great oppourtunity to make fun of this person..or flame whatever you wanna call it.. and i think its funny..but ill help this dude out....'ive heard of using simple green....it works pretty good.......but my true answer would be easy..dont wear the boots.hehe....they are pedals and that is what they are made for....just like floormats are for steppin on....just try some different cleaners..although...i wouldnt use bleach..cuz you can spill that pretty easy,,and then you will be posting on how to get bleach spots out of you seats..hehe lol

my poor mugen clutch pedal is now full of leaf bits from the fall. i'm hoping the snow that i will soon be tracking into the car with wash that **** off. i never really thought of cleaning the pedals, at least not until they lose their grip.
i would try to shoot high pressure water through the pedal from back to front. i've heard of people using a toothbrush.

Well, thanks for the input everyone. I think I can handle being made fun of a little bit. I guess I'm just not a hardcore racer like everyone else here
Still love the board...been browsing forever. Maybe I'll see some of you at the ITR expo and I can show you how clean my pedals are
