Ground Control or Skunk2?
should I install Ground Control coilovers or Skunk2 coilovers on my car?
I want to know which one is better.
I hear skunk2 isn't as good as ground control but a lot of people I know have skunk2 and they say it is pretty good.
And what shocks should I get?
I was thinking about getting tokico illuminas but not sure.
Don't mention tein.

Yup, GC springs are made by Eibach. And They are one of the best in the biz at making springs for any application, not just for automobiles. I dont know, and most people dont know what springs are used in the Skunk2. Another good thing about GC is that you can order custom spring rates for your car. I dont think you can do that with the Skunk2's.
I had the Junk2's on my crx and they sucked really bad they were sooo bouncy. Im sure it being the universal 88-00 civic coilovers had something to do with it sucking so bad (spring rates) but I would never buy them again. Go with the ground control/koni setup. And dont make the mistake of buying gr-2's or tokico blues with any coilover sleeve kit because they wont last and you might as well give your money to me. Good luck with it. Also check out the 89 accord front shocks with coilovers....another inch of travel

good call, that's why I went with Koni Yellows for my GC setup. If you're gonna go with a really stiff spring rate then the Koni Yellows are going to handle it better then most other shocks out there (or so I hear).

quality of the parts and design is a big consideration, which junk2 loses. as stated, GC provides springs made by eibach. also, the unique adjustable perch of GC is easier to adjust and lock than the two jamnut design.
but when most ppl consider the difference between the two, is off the shelf SPRING RATES. skunk offers a very aggressively high spring rate pair. what ppl may say "it rides good", i cannot imagine they know what "good" means and good for what? not street driving. GC offers a default spring rate that is fairly stiff for the street yet lower than skunk, and honestly still more than needed for the street. ive ridden in several cars with the default spring rates, and its pretty good with good shocks (agx, illumina, koni). but the best thing with GC is that you can CHOOSE your spring rate. thats the key difference that most ppl dont realize. slightly more costly, but you get the ride YOU want.
so for pretty much equal costs, theres no reason to choose skunk2 or omnipower (which is the SAME kit) over Ground Control.
tokico illuminas are great shocks. i recommend them. just be sure to tell them WHICH shocks you will be installing with. IT MATTERS, especially with koni's, which require a totally different sleeve, or an adaptor. skunk doenst offer any accomodation for this, another reason junk2 loses.

GC is very popular with the European crowd too because they are pretty universal/cheap and you can choose your own spring rates. The staff is very knowledgable as well. Go with Koni adjustables or Advanced Design if you're serious.
