Doing it with fiberglass and bodo is the wrong way..It will crack..And most likely look wavey,,
The right way is to weld in metal strips over the door...
Grind and shape them down to fit the contour of the door..
Prime and paint..Thats the right way and it's not cheap unless you no someone..

i paid 300 for a 4-dr...and no waves...didnt use bondo either...
welding is a good technique...and make sure the shop does NOT use bondo...they did NOT use it when they did my doors...

i bet you if we sanded our paint down there will be a small thin layer of filler....
you cant get away from using body filler on a project like that ..... have the holes welding and then its gotta be smoothed over with filler and then protected form the back from rust...
i would know this because iam a body tech ... .. so i would be the professional working on the car just like a person you would take it to in a shop
as for your question .... the best bet would be to buy some ITR doors and then slap those on and then you only have to shave the holes on the 1/4 panel ... .. might as well get a whole repaint if your going to paint most of the car anways

$500 is about right. Welding is the only way to go if you want it to look nice (long term). The body shop I used charged 8hrs of labor, although it took longer.

What do they shave off off? Just the door handles? And what does it cost to get the front bumper and trunk shaved if you just want the emblem holes covered?
Does $500 cover any paint or is that just for filling up the holes?
And when they repaint, they dont repaint the entire door and rear quarter panel right? I would think that would cost a lot of money to do, since that is around 40% of the car. Can someone explain the painting process when shaving moldings?
