Default engine hotter temp, = better vtec engagment?????????

the kid that sold me my car told me he put a bigger( or smaller) thermostat in it to raise engine temp becuase vtec works better this way.

i dont htink that it matters that much does anyone know anything about this?
my engine runs pretty hot (B16a1)

and i will replace thermostat anyways when i get boost.

thanks.

He is mistaken, or just an idiot. The lower temperature thermostats make the computer run a little richer due to the lower coolant temp. Not really anything to do with vtec engagement.

no no wait, the car runs hotter than stock?
either way he is an idiot and didnt know **** about the car.

i had to find out on my own what kind of brakes the original owner swaped into it and all this other crap.

so hotter engine=better vtec???????/

the only thinig i could think of is the oil is hotter and flows better through the solenoid, but uh, once it is engaged it doesnt matter.

No, the oil is hot enough, trust me. There is no correlation between the temperature of an engine and the physical ability for vtec to engage.

Hotter engine = angry engine
