Do You ITR Guys Like Your Stock Clutches ?, Need An Opinion....
Trying to decide what clutch to go with on a b16a engine, making 170-175 whp and 120 ft lbs torque, revving to 8600 rpms. Does the ITR clutch slip much at launch ?, or does it grab well ?. My stock b16a clutch is terrible at that, it slips a great deal at launch, looking for something that grabs nicely without slipping for a daily driver. I don't really care about pedal feel, just want something that grabs nicely and will last a decent amount of time in terms of reliability. My other choice would be an Exedy clutch, any idea which one would last longer (long term reliability) and perform better. I would use the car mostly for street driving, visit a 1/4 mile track maybe 2 times a year, road course once or twice per year. Any info would be great. thanks.

i like the stock clutch, but i personally think a aftermarket clutch would be better for you, a heavy duty one. I want to upgrade my clutch already, it grabs fine, i guess its just a personal prefference on what you want.
stock clutch =****
dont get sold on the type r hype.. . . it still stock , remember
it will be the same as your clutch
go with aftermarket and get something that can handle the abuse.

i'm running a stock clutch and i like it just fine. it is good for just bolt-ons, if your going to go bigger than that then go exedy...

I never felt the clutch slip at launch, so I guess it grabs pretty well
I think the stock clutch can take a pretty good beating and performs relatively well. From what I have researched the stock R clutch lasts relatively long w/a very few exceptions. I currently have the toda clutch made by Exedy and it grabs hard, but who knows how long it will last. My advice, stock R clutch
my stock clutch is fine and i abuse it so stock is fine but if you are talking about upgrades look into ClutchMaster, my friend just put one in his civic and he loves it. (but don't ask me which one he got) It really looked like a quality piece.

Joey,
You still have that stock clutch in your car

You should have drove my car last year at Gingerman. You would have fallen in love with my Toda clutch. Very good pedal feel and it can handle that amount of whp easy. My suggestion for you is get a Toda.
BTW, drop me and email about Gingerman.

the stock itr clutch holds good for me up into second, but if you are going to drag race this motor, i would get the exedy. i like the stock pedal pressure and the clutch was free so i am using it. (yes, i am hybrid. no the the clutch is not stolen)
