i turboed my sohc

Default i turboed my sohc

im boosten 8 pounds on a sohc on a t25 thanks to a boost controller. dose any think that its dangrous should i turn it down or is 8 safe ?

depends on how well built the motor is and how well tuned the ecu is. what are you tuning with and give us more info on the block and setup.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's a t25 from a dsm, then the factory setting is 10psi (then the eclipse/talon's ecu picks it up to something like 12psi). Wouldn't you need to change the spring on the wastegate to take boost below 10psi?

Not totally sure about this...somebody clarify please.

Yes..you're right
Turbonetics and garret make different springs for the T25..
You could buy from them or cut the spring insde the actuator..
I dont know about this guy though..He didnt givge a good description at all..

the other day he was rambling about an intake chip. Don't listen to this damn 04' member he has no t25, he prolly heard it on super2nr tv or something.

well you can shim the waste gate arm to lower your boost but ya 8 psi is fine as long as you have some sort of decent fuel manegment if you want to be on the safe side you can retard your timing a little and run the highist octane fuel you can get
