Does anything mix with GM Syncromesh?
Like it says, does anything mix safely with syncromesh? I think I'm a little low, and I want to just top it off without spending the big bucks for another whole quart of syncromesh. I'm running the friction modified version, if that makes a difference.
I ended up buying a quart of the pennzoil brand stuff, because it says on the bottle that it's the equivilant to the GM and Chrysler part numbers. I forget the wording, but the bottle made it sound like it was the same thing, and it was like $5 or $6, so it's cheaper than buying the real stuff at the dealership. I've had it in there for about a week now with no problems, for whatever that's worth.

i bought a quart too..but only a quart since i'm gonna buy the GM syncromesh FRICTION MODIFIED to see if it "smells" the same.
i smelled the penzoil, it didn't smell too awful...i remember taking a wiff of the gm syncromesh friction modified, and it smelled horrible. i'm going to buy a quart tomorrow at the gm dealer and compare smells
i mixed gm syncromesh friction modified and honda MTF no problems. i liked it way better than just honda mtf.

why not spend the money and not take the chance of messing something up. hell it can't be that expensive. and if you are that cheap, WOW! hell ask for it for Christmas maybe Santa will bring it to you.
it's not a matter of being poor (although I am a poor college kid), it's more a matter of if they really are the same thing, I'd much rather pay half price for pennzoil than twice that for GM.
