help woth feild vtec controller

hmmm thats wierd. the descripition didnt go out???? anyhow here is the problem. i have a fields vafc and when i shut off the car i lose my vtec setting. all of the settings like the afc and the buzzer stays. somehow i lose the vtec settings. anyone heard of this? what do i do?
