Adjusting Camber on '95 Civic
I'm adding 17" rims to my '95 Civic Ex tomorrow and am told I need to adjust my camber as well. What kind of kit do I need for this and how do they work? I also hope to add 19" within the next year, will the kits support this? Yes, the car is also being dropped about 1.75". Do I need to adjust the camber if I don't drop it?
Any info would be great!

ok 17 on a civic kinda big but ok dropping it 1.75" ok but not with 17s too put the wheels on and then see if you want it lower then change suspension but you will probably rub wheels to fender so camber will help you there but you need to buy a camber kit
you need a camber kit to adjust camber.
they have various kits, the most popular that comes to mind to me always is the ingalls camber kit.
i dont think you will be able to support a 19 inch rim with your body chasis stock, it would require you to shave the wheel wells etc.
17's are do-able yet you might occasionally rub.
you do not always have to have the camber adjusted. there are plenty of people who drop their cars without getting a camber kit.
just make sure you have to toe adjusted.

will rub everytime he turns or hits a bump
if the camber is not correct he will eat one side of the tires

How do the camber kits work? Are they an added thing to your car allowing you to adjust the tilt of the tire? Are they adjustable? Where can I find a kit and how much they run?
I know a guy that had the same 17" on his same year civic and he never had a problem with rubbing, he only had inner wear on the tire because his camber angle was off. I will try out these 17" until I think about the 19"

do an online search for camber kit
do you realize the bigger the wheel the harder it is to turn?? civics dont have much power so if you want to turn 19s you better get a turbo to do it and 17s will take a big *** chunk of your power. ex. 99 si 17" wheels, cat-back exhaust, and suspension was slower than my 97 ex bone stock just because of the wheels

I have a skunk2 camber and Im about 3" from stock height now on the front. There is someone on here selling the camber kits for a good price in the suspension or some other forum here on ht. search skunk2 coil overs or camber kit. 19's you wont be able to lower the car much without getting widned front fenders, now when I turn and if there is a slight bump it does rub real light. If you click on the link in my sig you can see the car there is a pic or 2 stock and lowered.

Yea I know If he went 19's stay stock height or lower it like 1/2 inch because that might even be too much

That's why the H22 comes into hand :D
I decided to first try out the 17" without a drop, if I need a drop I will do that and see where I am, then get the camber kit accordingly.
If I do go 19" I would only make more rim, less tire. The overall wheel size won't change.
Those skunk 2 kits don't have one for my '95 civic...none that was listed anyway.

you will definitely need a drop, even w/ 17's. I wouldnt worry so much about the camber kit immediately, just get an alignment and ensure that your toe is correct, so you dont eat out those pricey tires. Additionally, a camber kit may increase your tires rubbing, so keep that in mind. Finally, I am not the one to criticise people on thier style, but I think 17's are too big, not to mention 19's
. There is the power loss factor, but also it just isn't really appealling to the eye, especially on the 5gen civic. I would do some research in the appearance/cosmetic section and be absolutely sure that 17's are for you, b/c i know too many people who buy them and regret is later. 16's and a lower drop look really nice

Getting some great stuff here. I actually love the bigger rim look myself. Had them before and never had a problem...
These camber kits are for the front only right? How do I adjust the back? Also, I have been looking for a kit to turn my rear drums into disc, any suggestions on finding this?

did you ever experienced it or did you hear from somewhere? ive had 2 sets of 17's on my eg hatch and i do not have a problem with them rubbing. with the right width and offset for the car, you will not have a problem.
as for turning with bigger wheels, its easier to turn in my opinion. i've had oem blades, si wheels, and 17x7 wheels and i say the 17's turn much easier.
as far as camber kit, i dont think you need one. with a 1.75 drop, an alignment will suit you needs.
im tucking 17's with an alignment and the ingalls kit and have been riding over 15k miles and the thread are wearing evenly.

I just bought new rear bolts longer and some washers to get the camber correct.

So longer bolts for the back with some washers...and a simple camber kit. Do the kits always come with hardware?
Anyone know where to find the disc brake conversion for the rear wheels?
