Clicking sound from clutch???
Just a question that maybe one of you has experienced...
Ive just got my Type R about 3 months ago, its a 1998 Right Hand Drive UK(Euro) spec (I live in England). However about a month after getting it a very annoying clicking sound (like opening up a vacuum sealed container) started eminating from the clutch when releasing it. The car doesnt use any clutch fluid, and the clutch functions perfectly all the time, it only seems to happen when the car is warm. I have a few thousand miles to my next service, and cant justify returning the car to the dealer for such a trivial problem. Ive had a look underneath and cant see any problems with the linkage, etc. I dont know if this might only affect right hand drive cars, but if any of you have any ideas/solutions please email me on bigjohn5uk@yahoo.co.uk.
Many thanks

I think it's a non-issue. Several owners, including myself, have the same clicking sound intermittenly and it doesn't not affect clutch operation or life in any way other than clicking at you on occasion. You can mention to the dealer the next time you visit and see what they say, but I doubt they'll have an answer. And there's definitely no need to take the car in just for that....
Yeah, I have that same clicking sound eminating from my clutch as well. It's been to the dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong with it. I'm taking it back one more time to make sure, but many other owners have experienced the same noise (if we are talking about the same one). You may want to check with your dealer if you really don't feel comfortable about it.
Welcome to HT and congrats on purchasing your new R.

Thanks to all who replied,
I was just wondering if it was common, or if it could be some major fault
It seems to be quite common, so ill ignore it
Many thanks
