ringing bell sound, think it is the clutch
this doesn't happen all the time but i get this ringing sound from the engine compartment. it never happens during accelration. only when at idle or just crusing. i find it always stops when i push in the clutch. so i think it has some thing to do with it. any thoughts would help.

hey...i get that exact same sound too...and it goes away when I push in the clutch...clutch seems to work fine, but it does get a little harder to shift into gears sometimes after driving for a little while...

i got a ringing bell sound recently and it ended up just being the metal ring that goes over the intermediate shaft at the tranny side.

That happen to me back in high school when I was driving a Toyota Levin ....it was a cracked pressure plate

it was noticeable most in neutral (clutch released)...don't remember if I was able to hear while driving....but when I had my clutch pulled, a couple of teeth on the pressure plate was missing and it was cracked....

If it sounds like crickets then it's probably your throw out bearing.

since i got the turbo the radio is either off or you can hardly hear it!!
