HELP!! I have no clue what is wrong with my car!!
I hope I can explain this correctly so someone can help me out, I am so frustrated. Ok here goes... when I go to accelerate I get a hesitation that makes my car sound and feel like it is going to die but it doesn't (you can hear the sputter trough the exhaust). The only way to get it out of this is to step on the gas pedal to the floor, but then that makes my car take off fast. It used to do this once and a blue moon, but then it recently rained, and my car got soaked and now it does it mostly when it is cold and sometimes at any time. I changed the plugs, the wires are newer and the rotor is about a month old too. Water was in both sides of the wires, but it did not get into the distributer. If anyone has any info for me please help me out, thanks
p.s. I have a check engine light on that is telling me that I am misfiring in three cylinders too, that happened after I replaced the plugs.

If the wires have been wet I'd replace them before I looked any further. The water damage may have left a "trace" allowing the fire to bypass the normal path and go straight to ground under a load. Also smell your coil. If you notice a acrid "burnt" smell your coil may have burned a hole in it's side too.
Burnt smell? Is it kind of like a sulfer type of smell? Something simular to a firecracker? The cap and the wires have that smell, and sometimes I get a fuel smell with this act up too. But no fuel leak anywhere, gas mileage is crap too.
look at the cap again, if you change the cap and there is still a problem the contacts could burn out again or corrode. check and clean them.

Yes something like sulfur. If the smell is very strong after you remove the distributor cap then you may want to remove your coil and check for any hot spots.
