I know a lot of times the hoods get bent from being propped on that crappy stock prop for long periods of time, or if it gets pulled down whiel still propped, etc. Mine has about a 1/4" gap on the driver's side. But dang, 2" sounds like your car was in an accident...

Look closer at the hood-see if the is a bend in it somewhere. You won't get a 2" gap by just leaving the hood up for days, lol.Hate to say it but if it wasn't bad before,it must have been something that happened while it was at the shop.Maybe he was frustrated and leaned on the open hood beeing propped up by accident, don't know.
lol , ok so i went a panel beater today , and guess what they told me the hood has been damaged , i was like WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
cuz when i bought the car , the hood closed properly , and now dayumm from the side u can slide ur fingers in !!!!!

you might have the wrong mounts for your ride. B16A is what your car was originally equiped with. the B18C engine is taller therefore will cause the problem you are in. some people (in the states) buy B16a mount kits thinking it will work for a B18C, and it will. but the hood will not close. the B16A mount kits used for the B18C are a good idea for those who wish to avoid scraping thier motors when going over uneven surfaces, but an after market hood or modified one is required. what mounts are you using? if using the mounts the B18C mounts try your stock B16A mounts. if you are using the stock B16A mounts try using the B18C mounts. hope this helps!
