Well I wake up today and my car doesnt fo into rev. then I find out on the highway that the damn thing wont stay in 5th it only goes in half way then when I let off the clutch it pops out. I went to Honda and they said it was $320 to tear down the trans. then if I miss shifted they dont cover it. So that means I get to buy a new trans. if thats the case. Has anyone been through this before???

 

buy my tranny, your posting under prelude so you either have an f or h series, which this will bolt up nicely too. (f22)

 

bro its so wierd you posted this, the EXACT same thing happened to me 3 days ago but i was in baltimore and i had to get my car home to NJ......can you say 4th gear at 5K RPM for like 3 hours.........
also i go to school here and was pushign my car outta parking spots becuase no reverse. From what ive read its a bent shift fork. My mechanic is rippign my tranny out tomorrow, so i will let you know how it goes. Like you though I am probably in the market for a new tranny, unless i decided to build mine back up, we will see

 

yeah mine is getting torn down as we speak should find out in before 8pm so Ill post back up the results.

 

I have been through 2 trans in 2 months. sucks. but honda318dx is gonna rebuild so its all good

 

that i DEF do not like to hear especially since my new one, rebuilt or purchased, has to deal with the abuse of 18 pounds

 

this happended to me.. changed tranny fuild and it worked fine after that... maybe i got lucky..
