OT: Who would sell/trade their R for the new C6 corvette?
I know its way OT but I just got back from the dealer and I think I would trade in my R in a heart beat for that beauty. 400hp in a non Z06 model is freakin nice. I would wait for the Z06 personally
If it was an even trade....sure i'd be trading it in ASAP, that is just to resell the Z06 and buy a couple more Rs

Yeah who would want a well balanced rear wheel drive car when they could have a car that spins the front tires to impress the jr high kiddies.
I haven't driven a C6 yet, and I didn't care for the feel of the C5/C5 Z06's interior, but if they improved the interior up to an acceptable level in the C6 and it is as fun to drive as I've heard then I would take one easily over any FWD honda. Sorry.
Maybe I'll go drive one soon, waiting for a friend to get his new elise so I can try to drive that and the C6

****.. go buy one.. i guarantee that jr high school kiddies will be much more impressed iwth z06.. made a simple reply because i knew someone like you would just jump on it for kicks.. no doubt its a well balanced car, but its not suited for everyone and everyones life. i know itrs to be reliable, easy to work on, cheap to repair and drive most of the year.. if i had more money i'd still keep itr and z06 woudln't be the first one on my list..

Not at all. My cousins (who are of jr high school age) are FAR more impressed by the "hopped up" hondas than exotic cars.
And I'm not calling a vette an exotic
If one had the money for a C6 cheapness to repair and drive probably isn't your biggest concern.
I certainly wouldn't give a **** about theft or anything else with a C6. Then again, I wouldn't with an ITR either.
And cars are a matter of opinion. I would take a stock ITR over the boosted one, but I prefer balance. IMO 300whp is too much for a FWD car. I've driven turbo ITRs and have never been impressed except by the thrust when flooring them in a straight line. I could get that out of any number of other cars.

I like the corvettes, but until you're around 50-55 years old, you just dont look right driving one.
I would rather get a used Porsche 911 Turbo, or Viper GTS than a new vette.

I agree on the Viper.. I kinda like the 996's over the 993s, of course you could mean a 993 turbo but I just never liked them.. so money no object.. I'd probably pick up a 996 turbo, cts-v and a S2000. or you could mean a 930 turbo, etc
Oh, and probably a F-350 DRW.

i was lucky when i was younger, my dad bought and sold corvettes, so as long as i stayed away for drugs and alcohol i could take them anytime i wanted. so at 16 it was the straght edge life for me, they we're great cars but their not all that. maybe in a 5 or so years if my hairline keeps moving back my skull i'll think about getting one but i enjoy my turbo R to much.

if you cant beat em, goin em. i wont be joining them anytime soon

you got it.. and i just like my itr that much.. i don't have anything against vettes, sure i'd take one.. if you come up right now giving me brand new z06 for my itr.. i'd do it.. for $50,000 i'd sell my itr. but really, if i could to get z06 i'd still would have to have itr as well.

There's no choice for me.
I'd always keep the R but daily drive the C6 in a heartbeat, if I didn't have to worry about all weather capability.

The only thing i can see different than the older version is the headlights. Vettes are everywhere. I see 10 of them during 20 mins of drive. I only see one other ITR during my 3 years of driving.
ITR is a young man's sports car, Vettes are old men's toys.

Pardon me for being an old man who can appreciate both. Sport's car? The Vette is a sport's car, well actually now it's a nicely refined Muscle car. The ITR is still a souped up "sporty" commuter.

Lately I've got big time C5 fever, if we're talking a Z06 I've got it even worse. C6 are you kidding? Without a doubt I want one.
IMHO the Corvette is the best sports car that I actually have a chance of affording. In fact the past couple weeks I've been toying w/ the idea of selling the R and picking up a used non-Z06 C5, they can actually be had pretty reasonable. Buuuut I love the R too much, just gotta wait until I can afford both

so which would be the track ***** Chris?
I honestly think I would rather have the R. Corvettes are great cars and fantastic performers, but an Integra just fits me better.
