Default HELP...possible bad wheel bearing??

i think i may have a bad wheel bearing but i'm not sure....when i searched over past post most people say that wheel bearings that went bad have a howling noise. my car has more of a metallic scraping or scratching noise. It sorta sounds like i'm dragging a chain on the ground but more high pitched. It also tends to do it more when i go over rough rounds or when i change lanes and go over those bumps. it started like 100 miles ago and it did it for a little while but now it does it about 75% of the time. is this a bad wheel bearing? oh yeah....front drivers side.

check your dust shield. its a thin metal plate that sits behind the rotor

Could also be a bad input shaft bearing
